Our congratulations go to Dr. Omar De Varona, who successfully won a Juan de la Cierva competitive Spanish Fellowship to join the LeapLab for two years starting May 2021.
Dr. De Varona has a large experience in amplifiers and optical fiber lasers, having worked for 6-years at the Fiber Optics Group at Laser Zentrum Hannover LZH. Dr. De Varona will first learn the intricacies of the state-of-the-art femtosecond pulse 3D Direct Laser Writing facility at the Light-matter interactions and Extreme Application Photonics laboratory, to then apply this knowledge to study some new concepts on integrated lasers which blend both fields of fiber lasers and 3D laser nanolithography or nanoprinting.
