Franzette Paz-Buclatin et al. demonstrate the 3D nanofabrication of hollow nanostructured λ-thin lenses inside all single-crystalline YAG crystals. The seminal demonstration includes various designs with medium and high numerical apertures, and a measured optical fidelity above 95% for the first prototype, highlighting the potential of the group’s technology.
